As the local community around CBL’s Canadian headquarters grows, its local hospital is expanding and growing as well. One of CBL’s community goals this year is to support the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation’s Buy-A-Bed Campaign. The Markham Stouffville Hospital needs to raise $3 million dollars to purchase over 250 new beds, including electronic patient beds, stretchers, birthing beds and cribs. The Buy-A-Bed Campaign will ensure the expanded hospital has the necessary beds to give patients a place to heal and get healthier as quickly as possible.
Customers of CBL’s data recovery efforts will help have a direct impact on the quality of care received at the newly-revitalized local hospital. A portion of CBL’s recovery proceeds will help buy this essential piece of equipment that patients and staff use every day.
New beds have unique features that increase patient comfort and safety and make it easier for health care providers to treat patients.
Opened in 1990, Markham Stouffville Hospital was initially designed to serve 110,000 people, but now serves over 340,000 and growing! To meet these increasing needs, Markham Stouffville Hospital has expanded, with the new building opening in March 2013 followed by extensive renovations to the existing building slated for completion in 2014. The new beds purchased through the Buy A Bed Campaign will be essential to completing the hospital expansion and to ensuring we can provide excellent and comfortable care close to home.
Throughout the hospital, a variety of beds that feature advanced technology are used and they play a crucial role in patient treatment and recovery. Patient beds are necessary in almost every department of the hospital. Each bed is designed to meet particular needs, as well as assist healthcare professionals in providing the very best care to help save more lives. Almost every patient, from the time they are born to the when they are elderly, will benefit from a safe and comfortable bed where they can rest and heal. New beds have unique features that increase patient comfort and safety and make it easier for health care providers to treat patients.
